John Crane Type502 Replacement
The Type 502 mechanical seal is a high-performance elastomeric bellows seal designed by John Crane. It is mainly used in process pumps and other rotating equipment that operate under challenging conditions. Its features include a fully convolutional elastomeric bellows, which makes it highly flexible and able to fit into confined spaces. The design also compensates for shaft end play and misalignment, making it suitable for general service applications such as handling hot water and mild chemicals.
The Type 502 operates within a temperature range of -40°F to 400°F (-40°C to 205°C) and can handle pressures up to 580 psi (40 bar). It is designed to be bi-directional, meaning it can function effectively regardless of shaft rotation direction. This seal is typically used in industries that rely on pumps, mixers, blowers, and compressors
